WEBSITE DESIGN
To create our website we used wix.com, a flash website builder that provides you with a template for websites directed at film and entertainment. When creating the lay out I worked from the website for American Hustle, as it demonstrated a clear navigation and featured only the key features of the film that would still provoke interest from an audience.
The three main features that we wanted on the website design was the trailer, the title, and a photo feature. The photo is the same as used on the poster to provide continuity, and the font for the title is the same as seen in the trailer and on the poster to provide a branded feel to our film. It also allows for the film to become more recognisable which is vital in a promotional package. We featured our production company name in the same font as seen in the trailer. To promote the quality of the film I featured award nominations and wins for reputable ceremonies. I also included 4 links to our social media outlets, as I saw this as a feature on many existing websites, this included Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Blogger, as in more recent years social media has played a huge part in film promotion. I included several tabs to navigate to key information about the film including a film synopsis, cast and crew, videos and gallery.
