Lighting Experiment

We have planned to film in our school drama studio for the clips at the end of our trailer where we show our main character's 'victims'. In these clips we want to film in complete darkness but create light using the 'torch' mode on the Iphone.
Before we film, I have decided to experiment with the torch on the Iphone to see what effects it can create and if it will be effective enough for what we are trying to achieve:

For this picture, I held the torch underneath my chin so that it could create the shadows that it has. I think the low key lighting contrasting with the bright light from the torch has create scary and effective shadows which will be perfect for our trailer as we are want to scare our audience and make them feel uncomfortable.

This picture is much more defined than the pictures above. I held the torch right in front of my face to light it all up which then created the shadows behind me. This type of lighting will be effective for the last clips of the trailer as it creates the feeling of interrogation of the victims, which, once again, creates the feeling of uncomfortable.

Overall, for the scenes that we are going to film in the drama studio, we will use very low key lighting with all the main lights turned off and create shadows with our Iphone torches and we will move these around the actresses faces to create the feeling of disorientation and the feeling of the 'unknown'.
