Theatrical Film Trailer Synopsis
Having been teased all her teenage life for being introverted and
different, Scarlett Larkspur aims to seek revenge against the girls who made
her life a misery.
When researching traditional and modern Psychological Thriller
film trailers, we noticed how, if not all, the majority of them began with a
state of equilibrium. Therefore, when storyboarding and filming our trailer, we
will start with a state of equilibrium. We aim to disrupt this equilibrium by
introducing the motives of the main antagonist of the film, which is to seek
revenge on the girls that have bullied her throughout school by creating a
false account on Facebook and ‘catfishing’. As she becomes more and more
obsessive, the messages that are being sent become more and more uncomfortable
and weird.
The pace of the editing will gradually increase towards the
end of the trailer as the music intensifies and the dialogue decreases as this
is a common convention of theatrical trailers that we wish to include.
We have developed a basic idea for the first shot of the
trailer to be the protagonist adjusting the webcam (which would be the camera)
and then sitting down in front of it and creating a live video of what her
intentions are which would then be broadcasted later on in the film.
